The touch of the sweater brought awareness back to the wolf and he inhaled, catching the scent of a stranger in close quarters. With a start, he jerked upright, a growl in his throat and muscles tense. Memory came flooding back a second later and his lip uncurled from a snarl. He was in the library, he was dry, warm, and safe.
Fixing his eyes on the fae before him, Kanuna tried to reel the wolf back in and he held up a hand, palm out. "Sorry. You startled me. I, um..." Kanuna looked around the room to make sure his stuff was still there, untouched. "I must have fallen asleep reading." It was an easy lie, but he wasn't sure on the library's policy on housing the homeless.
"I'm Kanuna." He tried on his best charming smile and raked back his long hair.
