Well, if there was ever an incentive for a break in routine, here it sat next to her, impossible to argue with, not that Jayati really saw much of an incentive to do so. That probably wasn't an issue that Alistair had from many people once they had her focus. Or at least, here. Out in the world when someone pissed her off was an entirely different story, surely. The other woman's drink order was noted almost subconsciously, and she found herself what she preferred when she wasn't on the clock.
"Aye." She took her own drink with a thank you and a friendly, if professional smile for the bartender who delivered it, sincere but lacking the warmth and fondness that it had when it was turned back onto Alistair. It would be odd to say the least, but it would be interesting too, and she found herself more curious than she expected. It wasn't her goal of coming here, but it was quickly eclipsing that. For Jayati, who, so very often, was exactly what was on the tin so to speak, a person who could genuinely have two such contrasting sides was fascinating and perplexing. Had it been more hidden then she might have been distrustful and wary, as she was of Alistair's boss, but it wasn't, so she had cautiously settled on intrigued."It's good to have new experiences at my age."
Oh. Yes, her actual purpose. Jayati glanced down at her drink as she took a sip, "I know you have tomorrow night off from bridge duty, but I was wondering if you would mind taking a five hour shift for someone who had to go out of town?"
