The best blue drinks, Parthenope had discovered, were found at the bowling alley. Of all places. But, then again, the blue beverage that had started her on this kick had been discovered at her current place of employment--the arcade--completely on accident, so why shouldn't she find her favorite new thing in another completely unexpected place. She had the night off from work, and she'd been feeling perhaps a little unsettled since her recent run in with her twin's ex-fiance a couple weeks ago. It still nagged on her mind, both the sad story Dae had woven for her as to what had brought her to Summerview in the first place, and the obvious still lingering thread of hurt between Dae and her sister. It was one of those things that was completely none of her business--her sister's romantic life was not her problem, and honestly, it had been better as of late, as far as Parthenope could tell anyway, her being with someone now who didn't mind Peisinoe's quirks and oddness and general disinterest in most things outside her lab--but it still. The thought of someone not just... Loving Peisinoe for who she was, the shred of disappointment she'd seen in Dae when Parthenope essentially admitted her sister was not part of the growing resistance in Summerview like herself, had stung her on Peisinoe's behalf.
So she was here to take her mind off things. She wasn't really much of a drinker though. It wasn't about the alcohol. In fact, she was pretty sure the Pilkington's were mindful enough to up the sugar in her drinks and lower the alcohol content, because what she really liked was the mindless hum of the balls rolling down the lanes, the joyful tumbling of the pins, the cheers and groans of people winning and losing, and the odd smell of shoe disinfectant rising just over the heavy scent of greasy fried food. It was an otherworldly experience, all in all.
She had her purse hitched over her shoulder, eyes wandering the brightly lit bowling alley, mostly just taking in the ambiance when she caught the hint of a wave out of the corner of her eye and turned toward it, a bright grin when she recognized Gabrielle, and made quick work crossing over to the bar to hop into the seat next to her. "Oh, no, I'm just here for my own amusement," she replied, hooking her purse over the back of the chair. "I find the bowling alley very diverting, don't you?"
