Letting Loose
Gabe had made good on his promise of taking Luke off the island and into Atlantic city to actually experience the nightlife it had to offer and more importantly to the gay friendly bars and clubs . Luke was a good looking guy and it was a crying shame that nobody had snatched him up and made him their forever thing so Gabe was going to help in whatever way that he could to help Luke realise that there was more out there than just Summerview.
They were half way through their night out by the time they hit up the next bar where Gabe ordered them both drinks and offered the glass to Luke. This bar was quieter than the last and he had picked it rather purposefully for that fact as he'd seen how Luke had been struggling in the last one. "Okay so since we walked through the door I clocked about two guys checking you out." Luke snorted a little, "I'm pretty sure," he replied, "that they've been checking you out and I'm just kinda the person who happens to be in their field of vision." He rubbed at the side of his head, just under the sound processor. He was glad that this one didn't have the same kind of thumping music and noise that the previous one had. He knew the battery on his implant was dying because of how hard it had had to work in the other two places. Leaning against the bar, he took the drink he'd been offered - a soda for now just because he was taking it slow and was a terrible lightweight when it came to alcohol consumption - and sipped at it. "But it is nice getting off the island for a while. For something that doesn't involve food shopping, that is. I haven't- I've not been out since I was at college." A roll of his eyes accompanied Luke's reply as Gabe reached out to clasp Luke's shoulder in his hand, a firm squeeze following suit. "Nope, take it from somebody who is very familiar with those sort of scene they were definitely looking at you." He leaned back against the bar and caught the eye of the person behind the bar at which point he flashed a smile. "Have you had fun so far at least?" Luke snorted again. "Then they're blind and dumb," he pointed out with a look and then a little grin. "But yeah, man, I've had a good night so far. Nice to get outta town for a while and do something that doesn't involve like, adulting shit or, y'know, the stuff I was doing in the... uh," he wiggled his fingers, "family business." He frowned a little. "Fuck, I think I just wanna get drunk. Is that irresponsible? I haven't done that in ages. Might acutally dance then, too." "Nope, that is not irresponsible, not at all," Gabe hurriedly assured Luke. "And the upside? I can't get drunk so I'd make sure you got home safely and didn't make any momentously stupid decisions." And he would do both of those things because a dick he could be but he was not a total asshole. Hell, if Luke danced then Gabe would too. Luke laughed, "You could if you drank the blood of someone who was wasted, right?" he asked, "I mean that's how it works? Temporary intoxication? Shit I bet that's hard to come by though, from a consent point of view." He tapped his fingers on the bar, "Can we get a couple of beers, please?" he asked, downing his soda, deciding to just run with the random surge of whatever the hell we want that was coursing through him. Gabe gave an agreeing nod. "Yep and we both know how important consent is." In more ways than one. He chuckled as Luke was definitely going with the flow and that was good to see, it was about time his friend let loose and had some fun. He had a feeling he'd been all up in his head until Gabe had come home and shaken things up. Sometimes all it took was a fresh perspective. Gabe however stayed true to his word so as Luke got steadily more and more drunk he remained stone cold sober. True to form it hadn't taken Luke long to get kind of drunk. He had been up in his head for a long time, but that was kind of his thing. He did head stuff. He snorted at himself, head stuff. Haha. As if. That wasn't the best way of describing it. No, that was a lie. It was the best way. He grinned, eyes a little glassy and limbs loose and uncoordinated as he leaned against the bar. He'd danced a little, so he was also a tiny bit sweaty, but he was feeling alive. He'd regret it in the morning, but for now he perched on the barstool and looked at Gabe, dark eyes narrowed. "You should get drunk." Gabe watched Luke with an affectionate look in his eyes as his friend got drunk and actually enjoyed himself even going so far as to dance a little and just let loose. This was by far the happiest and most relaxed he'd seen Luke since he'd come back to Summerview. "I already told you," Gabe pointed out as he glanced over. "I can't get drunk and I won't get drunk because I said I'd look out for you." "Pfft." Luke waved his hand, "'s all you gotta do is feed off a drunk person, right? Right?" His eyes were all mischief and cheek. "And it won't last as long for you as it would for someone else would it, like me, you'll be sober in a while and I'll still be drink." He laughed to himself, thinking about Winston Churchill and comments around sobriety and attractiveness. "And you'll still be hot in the morning." He reached out and patted Gabe's cheek. "Right? I mean- jus' gotta drink a lil to get abitofabuzz." "Well, yeah," Gabe muttered with a chuckle especially as Luke reached out to pat his cheek though smirked at the mention of his still being hot in the morning. Yeah, Luke was definitely drunk, but that wasn't a bad thing, guy could definitely do with relaxing more. He did however tip his head as his brow furrowed in slight confusion. "Wait, what?" "To get you drunk," Luke repeated with an overly dramatic patient tone, as if Gabe hadn't heard him the first time around. "You gotta eat-" he snorted, giggled and waved his hand," I mean you gotta y'know, drink fromadrunk person, right?" His words were kind of running together. "Then you get a lil drunk and then have a bit of fun and then you get sober and we go home right?" Gabe couldn't help himself he just gave a shake of his head in response to Luke's proposition. "Pretty sure that would be weird, Luke. I mean, you're drunk so your ability to think clearly and make actual choices right now? Next to none." It was tempting however because well it had been a long time since he'd been drunk. Luke gave him a deadpan look that had him almost mirroring the expression his sister used to pull all the time that said the words that had just come out of someone's mouth were stupid. "Not weird. Not if I'm suggesting it." He caught the bartender's attention and pulled a few bills out of his wallet, slapping them on the counter and grinning. "Tequila. Please. At least seven." The bartender arched his eyebrow at the demand but merrily and happily carried it out until sure enough seven shots of tequila were laid out in front of Luke. "Holy shit," Gabe muttered. "I have unleashed a monster." "I heard that," Luke said, "see if I offer to get you drunk again in the future, ungrateful fucker." It would seem, with a few dozen different types of liquor in him, Luke's inner sailor came out. "Besides, I never self medicated for seeing the dead, this is just... years of making up for my shitty ass powers and fucked up magic." He licked the back of his hand and tapped the salt onto it, tongue brushing it off a moment later as he downed the first shot, rinsing and repeating until all seven of them had been swallowed and Luke felt a little light-headed. Grabbing Gabe by the wrist, he tugged him over and beamed. "See, now you do your thing," he tipped his head, "and we enjoy mutual drunkenness until you have to carry my ass home with your hand over my mouth so I don't sing showtunes." Gabe stumbled a little as he was suddenly grabbed by the wrist and tugged over to where the very drunk Luke was sat looking overly pleased with himself like the cat that got the cream. His gaze dropped to the newly exposed expanse of Luke's neck and he could almost see and definitely could hear the unsteady thump thump of his friend's pulse. He really shouldn't because you know that would be weird but at the same time he wanted and his entire mouth was aching as a result of him resisting his nature, at keeping his fangs in check. "You're not going to let this go, are you?" Luke looked up into Gabe's eyes and lifted his eyebrows. "You saying you don't wanna? Why should I have all the fun?" He wet his lower lip, "It's not gonna be weird unless you make it so, Number One." He laughed at his own cleverness, again, and then wrinkled his nose. "Ugh, I hate tequila. But it's good for being drunk. So c'mon, let's get this done and then we can go dancing." "Fine," Gabe bit out with a roll of his eyes before he took a hold of Luke's wrist. "But not here, not where everybody can see us." And with that he dragged his friend over to a relatively dark corner of the club where he rather forcefully shoved him up against the wall and with a roll of his neck and darkening of his eyes his fangs extended. He ran his tongue along them before stepping in close to cradle the back of Luke's head as he passed his mouth over the column of his neck to circle the point where the pulse was the strongest and he knew from experience that the blood was one of the sweetest. Once he got an affirmative nod from Luke he sunk his fangs in, pierced the skin, and swallowed. "You treat all your donors so roughly?" Luke asked, having hit the wall with a thump. His heart was hammering, excitement beating out the nerves probably purely because of the alcohol in his veins and the sensation that this was a good idea. This was a great idea. The initial sting wasn't too bad, a lot like getting an injection and Luke had had more than his fair share of those over the years. His fingers twisted in the fabric of Gabe's shirt, tugging him in and holding on tight as he felt lips close around his skin, almost felt Gabe swallowing as he drank and closed his eyes, focusing on his breathing and waiting for the vampire to draw away. Thankfully the experience of being fed on if it was consensual was an enjoyable one and Gabe had been taught by his pseudo Sire how to make sure his donor had just as much of a good time as he did while drinking their blood. He also knew how to be careful and not take too much just enough to get a good buzz and also for his donor to feel the benefits of the feeding process. He went with the tugging of his shirt and ended up a lot closer, his free hand braced against the wall beside Luke while his thigh settled between Luke's thighs as he curled his tongue around the spot he'd bitten into and coaxed the free flow of blood into his mouth. Just a little longer and then he'd pull away. Luke let out a shaky breath and his fingers pushed into Gabe's hair at the back of his head, a shudder shooting through him even as drunk as he was. He bit his tongue, though, refraining - rather magnificently if he did say so himself - from making any reference to understanding why Twilight was so popular now, letting Gabe and the wall both hold him up. He did, however, manage to ask, "Feeling drunk yet?" Gabe leaned back after he was certain he'd taken enough to feel more than a little lightheaded but not before he sealed the wound, the only traces of it would probably be a bruise come morning. "Mm, definitely a lil buzzed," he hummed in a soft husky voice as he lifted his head and smiled slowly at Luke. Luke grinned lazily up at Gabe, lifting a hand to pat his friend's cheek again. He felt hazy and buzzy and definitely drunk and that was the best thing ever. "Mm, good. C'mon, we gotta go dance now because the night is young and you're only gonna be drunk for a bit and I wanna make the most of it." Gabe chuckled softly and looped his arm around his friend's neck before pulling him in close as he navigated the club in the direction of the dancefloor. "Let's do this." Once on the dance floor he untangled but not so much that he was a million miles away from Luke until he just relaxed into the beat and found a distinct rhythm with his hips, hands disappearing into his hair at one point as he felt the music and enjoyed the lingering effect of Luke's drunkenness. Luke was sort of doing his own thing, he'd found the beat which was enough for him and he was just enjoying being out and not up in his own head, that little voice that constantly told him to worry about everything - and everyone - and how they were looking at him, or if they knew about his powers, about his death thing, was silenced. He couldn't hear it anymore, couldn't hear it taunting him. Halfway through a song he loved, Luke opened his eyes to beam at Gabe, singing along loudly to a track that had been a staple of their teenage years. Waaaaait, Gabe knew that song and man he loved that song so as Luke began to sing he joined in, belting it out while taking a hold of Luke's hands and just dancing with him as they enjoyed a very distinct walk down memory lane. Man, how he'd missed this lovable idiot. He really had. |
