"Yeah," Danny's chest puffed up a bit at the sound of awe in her voice. "I'm a dragon."
When she kissed him back, Danny felt his stomach flutter that way it usually did when a kiss was impromptu like this, when it was sweet and not hurried or done out of spite. Before he could continue it, though, Lennon was falling and Danny leaned forward to catch her more solidly, arms hugging around her waist while hers were around his neck.
He chuckled and echoed her, "Shit is right. Here." Carefully, he scooted forward off the edge of the table and turned to ease her down onto the nearby chair. As he withdrew, Danny couldn't resist looking into her eyes again, remembering the wonder he'd seen in them before, the glow that had felt so good to dive into. He thought he could still see a residual glimmering blue in the iris.
"You alright? Want me to get you a drink or something?" Reluctant to withdraw completely, he stayed near her chair. "I could call you a ride home so you can rest?"
