His knowledge on flowers was, admittedly, limited - but why not impart some wisdom? Everyday was one to learn something new. Or indeed, burn something down. Sometimes that seemed tempting too, in addition to holing up in his flat with nary a light on and a book about something (likely not flowers and, yes, he could see in the dark just fine).
"I might go for the aster myself," Graham said - no particular reason for doing so, but there was something pleasant about wildflowers, no matter what kind. The perfume that came about from setting their lives alight was was said to drive away angry serpents.
Perhaps that's why this customer was here for them? A pesky serpent problem.
"But I'll just take whatever colour you don't want. And you're welcome," he tacked on. "I'm Graham. Are you a recent island arrival?"
