Clara watched the embarrassment cross over Maeve’s face just after she felt it tugging on the edges of her consciousness, along with a concern and a worry that hadn’t been previously there and Clara had a feeling she knew that she’d been the cause of that particular spike.
“No, no nothin’ like that,” she was quick to reassure Maeve, turning to fix the woman a drink and handing it over with a tip of her head and a small, unsure smile. “I- I got a knack for knowin’ how people feel,” she offered. It was the truth, without actually giving too much away. “And I can tell you’ve been off an’ all so I just wanted to make sure you’re okay. ‘Cause you ain’t normally this busy but it- it won’t have been obvious to everyone, so you’re okay.”
She just wanted to help, to help Maeve feel a little better and to help calm whatever it was that was obviously worrying her.
