Dae nodded and swallowed hard when Parthenope answered about her sister. She looked out into the ocean, expression unreadable for a moment as she held back from making the mistake of vocalizing her thoughts. Peisinoê wasn't involved in helping keep surface matters from affecting the pods? This was not new information to Dae. So, why did it still hurt to hear?
Recomposing herself, Dae stood. She knew she had to get going before she crossed any lines with her ex's twin and made any unkind observations of Peisinoê's apparent consistency in putting herself before her people. She didn't have enough of the story or the authority to make those judgments, especially when Peisinoê wasn't here to defend herself, but they were thoughts on the fringes of her mind anyway. They'd been at the heart of Dae ending their betrothal.
"Thank you, Parthenope." Dae bowed at the waist. "You've given me invaluable information. I'll be going directly to these individuals and offering my services."
