“No, no, no, no! It has to be something like. Catchy. Interesting? We’ll come up with something,” Kenna’s voice trailed off and she popped the straw back in her mouth and gave a slower sip this time, sans odd slurping noise. But then she said sunshine, and like that, Kenna’s face lit up and a wave of fresh honeysuckle filled the air. Around them, the leaves got a hint more vibrant in tone as Kenna’s eyes flared a similar shade and she nodded vigorously. “Yes! Perfect! I love it!”
Kenna smirked and her face wrinkled, and eyes closed tightly as she got booped. Maybe it was being a part of a society were boundaries were mildly questionable. After all, it was not far from the nudist colony. “I mean, that’s fair. This is a lot different to what you were used to, and you are still new to this side of existence.” Kenna’s voice was thoughtful, and she sucked her lips between her teeth and exhaled. “I guess it used to be like that for us, too. Once upon a time. But now jobs are so vital even to like… a teenager… that we’re programmed on how to be a good employee from the start. It’s like… not even a first-job pass exists these days for kids. We kind of have an unfair advantage.” Unfair in a number of ways. Kenna hummed and closed her eyes. She pictured the store. The layout. Colors and shapes of the walls. She pictured the counter and the lighting. All the while, the girl rolled her lower lip between her teeth in thought. Her nose scrunched and eyes stayed closed. “Would… you want a landscape? A detail? Still-life?” She paused. “Uh… as in like… the fruit and a vase or something,” the last bit she added hurriedly with an eye peaking open before shutting again.
