You don't need to say a word 'cause your body talks
And this was the month of love and emotions for all! Lenore tried to extend her feelings and love for everyone as much as she could at all times of the year, but yes, she would consume the yearly rites of consumerism. Mostly because she just loved partaking in the holiday, events, and making memories.
Today she would see to it that her dear Graham would be well taken care of. All he did for her did not go unnoticed nor was it in vein. She would strive to pull a smile onto that sometimes sad face of his. If she were to make the most of what she was, she would help him do the same. And while a âcouplesâ massage perhaps was a little unorthodox, well, Nerissa did good work and Lenore thought it would be a very lovely experience for an old vampire to be pampered. Atmosphere and all of that.
Although the air was swaying with a chill she wore a lovely light dress splashed with a bit of floral. Pinks and reds of course. More bubbly and excited as ever as she all but galloped with her companion over to the spa. Of course the environment was so serene, the scents, the water, even Lenore felt relaxed. âAre you excited?â She hummed in the cozy little sandals as they sat in waiting, cucumber water in hand. âItâs so serene. I really hope you get to relax and enjoy it.â
âExcited, yes - also curious. Since of course Iâve never done anything like this before,â was Grahamâs response, with a bashful sort of smile at Lenore - when he smiled it wasnât usually all fangs and happy-go-lucky grins. More subdued, like the rest of him. But her bounciness and exuberance sort of balanced out his calm, his shadowy demeanor - and she was rather thrilled to be here, that he could tell.
And so was he, by extension. Thrilled to be here and thrilled he could do something with her that made her happy. Eventually he would even tell her the truth, tell her how he felt - after talking to Kenna, heâd been thinking about it more and more. Sheâd been right, there really was no point in withholding things. If Lenore just wanted to remain friends, then Graham would respect her decision - but at least he didnât have to keep his feelings locked away tightly and squeezed to death within him.
He reached over and patted her hand, sliding his fingers over hers as the door to the hallway leading to the back rooms opened and Nerissa joined them. She was dressed for work (comfy black pants, a cotton shirt, flats), wearing her own fangy grin, and seemed pleased to see them. âCome with me, hotties,â she spoke grandly, leading them to the room she had in mind. Inside, the lighting was warm, two tables side by side, a tray of champagne and plump, fresh, bright red strawberries (and chocolates as well!) all set up.
âGo on and get naked and comfy on the tables with sheets or without, enjoy some nibbles. On each other or the treats, whatevs. Iâll give you a few minutes.â
The gesture of course didnât go unnoticed, Lenoreâs smile beaming brighter as she turned her fingers over to curl around Grahamâs before they were gone. Quiet as he was he was ever so affectionate and spoke wonders physically. She did appreciate it. Unsurprising as it was, she didnât receive as much physical affection from her parents but adored receiving it from clients, friends, and anyone who was willing to lend a hug or smile. From Graham, it felt much more tender and important.
âBehave yourself!â Lenore covered her mouth, giggly so as not to chorfle in Nerissaâs general direction. Oh, ever so brash with her bluntness, but oh so charming. Saying whatâs on everyoneâs minds with a hint of piss and vinegar.
She could bask in the serene setting forever. How she wanted to capture these feelings and calm in a painting. Yet it was more than lighting, it was scent and sound. Eventually the young vampire would figure it out and put brush to canvas. For now, she picked the adjacent table, easily slipping out of her slides and light, comfy dress, sliding down the curves of her body and to the floor. While the naked form was nothing she was afraid of--she was a lady after all, and wrapped herself in on of the sheets, pressing it to her cheek to inhale. âI donât know what the scent is, but itâs wonderful. I could burrow in it all day.â
âLemongrass and basil, I think. Some lavender, perhaps,â Graham replied, having politely averted his eyes when Lenore, ah, disrobed. Nudity didnât necessarily make him uncomfortable, and she was utterly gorgeous to boot, but while she was easily classified as a lady he was a gentleman, and wouldnât stare at her like some randy teenager.
He was also wearing more clothing so it took a bit longer for him to get everything situated - more buttons and whatnot, though to his credit he didnât bother with a suit and tie. Just a sweater over a dress shirt, and pressed trousers. Everything was hung up neatly because he wasnât about to wrinkle anything, my god. The horror. âIt does smell lovely though.â
This stuffy vampire had just gotten himself situated on the table when Nerissa came back in, her bouncy ponytail swinging. âOkay, babes, I only have two hands so Iâll do you, Lenore, and my assistant will do Graham - I mean, not in the dirty way.â She thought about asking if they were going to join the terrycloth robe club or whatever it was called - it basically meant fucking after a couples massage - but she wasnât that rude.
Sometimes.
Anyway, she started off with an application of some sweet-smelling massage oil, beginning at her vampire gal palâs back first - strokes to warm up the tissue and release tension. Her assistant was a homely little witch, but the bitch had good fingers so Graham would get a pleasant beatdown - he seemed wound tightly. Probably needed to blow a load in addition to getting a massage.
âLemme know if you experience any discomfort at all, okay?â she made sure to ask Lenore.
âYour nose is so acute.â She was excited for when she could decipher things as easily as he did. Like the lady she was, of course she averted her eyes from him as he got undressed and comfortable, partaking in one of the ânibblesâ that Nerissa had offered earlier.
She pulled her hair back to get it out of the way before stretching out for Nerissa on her own tableâshooting her friend a look for the remark but the smirk was still on her lips. Back and shoulders exposed, it was easy to see where Lenore had been attacked and bitten. Brutally. And the unnecessary gashes from the silver, forever engraved into from her collarbone to her shoulder blades.
Lenore didnât like to look at it. It was reminiscent of being attacked, defenseless. She took a deep breath and exhaled, almond brown eyes looking to Graham to make sure he was comfortable. âYears of tension, all gone after a little. Your shoulders should feel weightless.â She hummed as she teased affectionately.
Yeeeeah, those scars on Lenore were quite obvious. It was clear that whomever had turned her was the biggest fucking cunt in the world - Nerissa was tempted to find him and break his neck. It wouldnât kill him, probably, but it would make him real damn uncomfortable for awhile. Asshat.
But she didnât say anything, just continued her work - down the back of each leg, thigh and calf muscles. âIf you donât feel weightless after this, Iâll be offended,â she grinned.
Graham laughed in an undertone, but the tail end of it was an ooommph, because his own personal masseuse was very generous with her...finger strength. Plus, his back was a mess of knots and felt like a concrete slab, he knew that much. âConsidering Iâve gotten a massage, well, never - Iâll probably even gain a couple inches in height,â he quipped. âMy shoulders wonât slump from all the weight on them.â Like he even needed the extra inches though - he was already tall as a redwood tree.
âHmm,â Lenore chuckled into the rest of the table. âIâll be offended myself. It feels lovely.â She was so lucky to have met such a charismatic friends. As much as she was surprised to find she was tense in other places she supposed she shouldnât be.
All of the stress points went to her feet and handsâbut even her legs felt such a great relief after Nerissaâs work.
She couldnât help the chuckle that ripples over her body at Grahamâs comment. Squinting her eyes a bit as Nerissa found a knot of her own. âI certainly hope not. Youâre already towering over half the town, dear. But Iâm glad to hear your tension will be gone. You deserve to feel light as a feather.â And relieve some of those daily headaches heâd mentioned.
Nerissa hit up those dainty feet too, thumbs and fingers digging into the sore spots on Lenoreâs poor tootsies. Then told her to turn over because it was time to get the other side, like the front of her legs and her arms.
âSo youâre comfy, then?â she asked, just to be sure. âYou both look pretty cozy.â
âGood over here,â Graham assured. âFeeling very much like jelly.â Heâd turned over as well, and tried not to just flop on the table - he had no idea how tense heâd been, but it was more than obvious now. Though he supposed it made sense - wanting to keep Lenore safe from her problematic sire was always at the forefront of his mind. âThanks for arranging this,â he told her. âIt...well, I owe you one.â
Lenore stretched out for Nerissa, already feeling light and relaxed. Her tootsies and fingers were ever so thankful. âComfy as a cucumber.â She made sure to keep a close eye on her companion to gauge if he actually was enjoying himself or just humoring her--he would do such a thing to be polite. But she could tell from the look on his face that he was really enjoying it. Which was an excellent win in her book.
âDonât be ridiculous, this is a gift.â She hummed calmly when there was another sore spot being worked over. âFor all you do for me? I owe you far more than a nice massage.â
He always seemed to forget everything he had done for her and continued to do. No matter, she wouldnât.
âYou guys are like, super cute and shit,â Nerissa shared - she was fond of doing that, meaning, interjecting her opinion whether or not it was asked for. The people she was close to and the people she actually liked (all two of them in the whole entire fucking world) were used to it by now, probably.
Her fingers expertly continued their massage - Lenoreâs arms, her hands (and she definitely checked to see if her artist friend had soiled her paws with paints since last time, and it luckily didnât look too bad on these cuticles), then she scooted behind her to finish up with the neck and shoulders. By now, both Lenore and Graham should be feeling like goo.
âAlright, have some water and some more nibbles - â Something cold and refreshing always felt good after a massage, â...Iâll leave you for a bit.â Wiping off her hands, Nerissa looked pointedly at her assistant. Time for them to scram.
Graham heard the door close, but it took a minute for him to get his brain working again. âWell.â
Lenore shot Nerissa a loving glance with an arched brow at her comment before she could exit. âThank you dear, you are the sweetest.â But yes, she was very much like goo and the warmth of the table beneath her didnât make her want to move at all. When she could feel a temperature like this it was on of many things the young vampire missed.
Rolling back onto her tummy, she rested her head on top of her arms, watching Graham and enjoying the daze of the lotion scents and scrubs that had been tenderly scrubbed into her body.
She could probably sleep right here and there but that was doubtfully not part of the plan. Smiling gleefully to Graham, enjoying his resting figure. Not uptight or guarded. Relaxed. âWonderful, isnât it? You look so at ease.â
âQuite wonderful,â Graham had to agree, especially since he couldnât remember ever feeling so boneless. Admittedly, heâd been a bit curiously apprehensive about this experience since he hadnât known what to expect but it turned out better than he could have imagined. âI probably shouldnât wait over a hundred years for my next one,â he smiled crookedly.
Then he sat up (though he had the sheet around his waist so he wasnât just expecting Lenore to have a conversation while he was flashing her), brows knit together in that contemplative sort of way. âIâm sure we both needed this because things have been stressful lately and theyâre probably going to keep being that way - but itâs important to take moments like these and...I love you, Lenore, I really do. Not just in the...friend way.â
Naturally he picked such an awkward time to tell her. Apparently his words were loose in addition to his muscles - but at least it was Valentineâs Day? Points for the time on the calendar, he supposed.
Oh what a joker he was indeed. She wouldnât let him wait another hundred years if she could help it. Knowing that even as a vampire the aches could be soothed with skilled hands was only part of keeping oneself pampered and in good health.
Her smile faded when he sat up and went into a tiny monologue about the state of things and then..about his love, for her.
She had no breath to catch in her throat, no heart to thud loudly in her chest, but the raw emotions pulling at her core, she did feel. Pushing herself up slowly, wrapping the blanket around herself, Lenore blinked curiously, almost shyly, trying to wrap her mind around what he had said and make sure she did not come to the wrong conclusion.
âYou do?â A silly question in her surprise, scooting off to pad effortlessly over to him, one hand clinging to her blanket, the other reaching out to touch his cheek, fingers gently running over his jaw as she studied his expression. Slowly, she leaned up to give his lips a very chaste and gentle kissâas if confirming something. âI thought it was a bit foolish to do so, but I think I love you too, Graham.â How could she not? He gave her affections and care no one else ever had. When he hardly knew her and didnât need to. All the time they spent together and how comfortable and safe she felt around him. Lenore thought it was merely a close bond between vampires but no...they were both still capable of love.
âOf course I do.â Graham kissed her in return, fingers forming a loop under her chin to hold her there so he could kiss her again - just another one that was sweet as these strawberries, because he knew that Lenore didnât have a lot of experience with relationships. Not like he was Casanova either, but still - they had the time to just take it as it came, to go at her pace.
He hadnât been with anyone since Jane - not in the romantic way. There were a couple of flings, âships passing in the nightâ or whatever the saying was, but to feel love for someone - another vampire, to dip into the waters of having a mate - that was all new to him. âYouâre impossible not to love,â he chuckled, fingers stroking the dark silk that was her hair. âAnd we...helped each other. It wasnât just me helping you. I think thatâs important.â
Dear Lenore had few if any concrete experiences with love or intimate relationships. Sheâd spent her priority on traveling, learning, having a relationship with life and sharing it with as many people as she could. And here she was with this wonderful man, all but melting into his touch, the shy smile unable to leave her face.
âFlatterer,â She hummed, leaning into his gentle touch, her hand holding his close to her heart, curling further into his personal space, nestling her face at his collarbone. âItâs such a romantic notion. Weâre exactly what each other needed.â The words made her giggle and kiss at his skin. âIâm happy to know Iâve helped you in any way. You deserve it, Graham.â
She leaned back briefly to stroke his scruffy chin, looking up to him adoringly. To know at all she gave him any sort of happiness at all delighted her to no end. What a most wonderful feeling.
âPerhaps I could take you on a proper date soon?â Graham suggested, before dropping a kiss in Lenoreâs hair. âIt doesnât have to be in Summerview. We could even leave the island.â The last time they went to Atlantic City it had been for training purposes and, ah, meal purposes - but he certainly didnât expect the next outing there to be so macabre.
And then, after a brief knock, Nerissa opened the door - she practically shat her pants with happiness and fist-pumped when she saw how cozy the two were looking. This would no doubt be a gigantic âI told you soâ to Lenore later on.
âWell, how are we doing?â she asked gleefully.
The last time they left the island was for meal purposes. Not Lenoreâs favorite thing, but she certainly was progressing. And she wanted to try, for Graham, especially if he believed she would be ok. âIâll have to check my schedule first.â She chuckled at her own joke, pulling back to meet his eyes again. Bringing the hand of his sheâd taken hostage to her lips for a quick kiss, she nodded. âThat would be wonderful.â
If she hadnât heard the serpent coming with her acute senses, Lenore might have jumped, but here thin brows did narrow, as did her eyes as her friend entered with that face and her remarks.
âThanks to you, quite well.â Lenore grabbed her sheet to hop off of Grahamâs table so she could get to her own. âAnd we certainly donât want to keep you from your own valentine.â
âOh yeah, itâll be fun - heâs making dinner,â Nerissa chuckled; her adventures with bourbon chicken had gone okay - sheâd be fine with making it again, and even having Callum over for a meal as promised - but for something really special and good, obviously she trusted it to Zander. Because...reasons. âBut you guys have a good rest of V-Day.â
âIâm sure we will,â Graham smiled, and there may have actually been teeth that time. âThanks again.â
Nerissa waved it off. âHey, what are friends for?â They were there to not-so-subtly push two clueless people together, using chocolates and a massage, but hey. She was willing to pull out all the stops for someone she definitely considered a friend.
She did have so few, after all.
