Kanuna was right. Sam was level headed, luckily for him. That definitely stopped him from giving into the wolf and letting his emotions get the better of him. If he let that happen then he was at serious risk of turning right there and then and nobody (including Sam) wanted that.
When he was thinking more rationally he'd reflect on the fact it was Kanuna and he wouldn't do anything to intentionally hurt him. That wasn't in him. Not when it came to Sam and his family.
Sam's hands flexed as restlessly as his thoughts whirred and his emotions tumbled through loops he didn't even think possible. It was normal to be shocked, angry, confused and unsure of how to react, right? He wanted so very badly to just hate Kanuna because it would make this whole thing a lot easier but it was Kanuna which made everything so much more complicated.
"Fuck," he uttered as he finally released his friend from his tight grip and stepped back, pushing his hands into his hair restlessly.
