Kiss full of color makes me wonder where you've always been
Peisinoê wasn't the best at responding to text messages, but she had been trying for Cohen. Especially since she had been shot. He would have visited earlier too, she would normally have loved that, but honestly, she hadn't been sleeping great in the two days since it happened. Between no position being really comfortable and the fact that her thoughts went south fast, well, Peisinoê hadn't been her best. But Mickey had come by last night with one of his creations, a bit more potent than his bath bombs and the like. It had helped her sleep the night before, finally and she had texted Cohen and told him she was ready for a visit if he still wanted.
Besides, Peisinoê could use a hug. Or more specifically, a hug from her boyfriend. Who was comforting, safe, warm, and dashed away her dark thoughts when he smiled at her. He had news of his own, though he seemed to want to discuss it in person, and she could use the distraction. Not to mention the fact that she wanted to learn more about him. More than she ever had before with another, the sort of curiosity that was normally devoted to mutating viruses was being directed at him instead. It might have unnerved him, if he knew how much she had thought about him today, now that she was calmer and her thoughts were clearer, even she considered that it was a bit much. It seemed thoughts of Cohen managed to be both calm in a storm and the chaos of a wave cresting in a hurricane, and that had been true since they met - becoming more intense since his visit, aided by sporadic text message conversations. Although, when she realized he was a respite from dark thoughts and physical pain? Well. That was telling, wasn't it? Even Peisinoê knew the importance of someone who provided comfort even when they were far away. Though the pain in her shoulder was raw and biting, she felt serene and nervous at once when she thought of him. Soon he would be here though, and she had to text Parthenope and let her know as soon as he arrived because her Twin had left the door unlocked for him so Peisinoê wouldn't have to leave the couch to get the door. And it was ridiculous, really, how anxious she was for his arrival, and what time was it anyway? Where was her phone? Ah, there it was, buzzing underneath one of the multitudes of pillows around her, she finally dug it out to a text from him saying - Sorry, I'm late I'm here. If he was here why did he text instead of - oh, there was the knocking, somehow both tentative and anxious at once, something she related to all too well. "Come in!" She yelled, before being unsure if he could even hear her from the door and opting to text him as well. |
