Stephanie hadn't spent much time near the Wharfs lately. Not just because of the cold weather enveloping the East Coast, but for the simple fact that it held a handful of very good memories with Eddie that she didn't want to dwell on. But, the weather today begged for exploring, a peek into what spring would bring Summerview in the next couple of months (or even weeks if the groundhog was correct). Plus, her dog Flounder was becoming slightly stir-crazy after a few months of cold and not as much time or socialization as he was used to.
So, she put on her casual best (A.K.A athleisure -- leggings, running sneakers, and a baggy sweater), put Flounder in the back of the car, and drove on over to the Wharfs. She and the old fat Yellow Lab took their time strolling down the boardwalk. Some people seemed to be rushing back home in spite of the pleasant weather, but Stephanie ambled down with her senior pup, stopping by to look at the stalls with trinkets or let him sniff around.
While she glanced at her phone, she let Flounder tug her along, not paying attention to the direction or what was surrounding the two of them. He seemed particularly interested in something, and well, she was particularly interested in Instagram at the moment. Someone might've had a smart comment about how she'd gone outside to enjoy her social media. But regardless, Flounder pulled along, chasing a great scent, until the pair collided with someone else. Phone flying and leash loose, Stephanie cursed loudly before glancing up to apologize.
"Oh my god I'msosorry." Stephanie scrambled to grab Flounder's leash before he ran too far and looked up from her crouched position at the young girl. "Are you okay?"
