A new employee, perfect. Danny was the New Guy no longer. In fact, he'd been asked to show the new New Guy around the inn and help them get their bearings. Elliot was his name, Danny was told. He'd arrived at the inn after his shift at Boudin ended and had borrowed an empty room to take a shower. He'd then cleaned up after himself, left the room spotless, and went into the basement to get to work washing linen. The process involved running them through a steam press to get every wrinkle out and Danny tugged the longer strands of his hair up into a topknot to keep out of his eyes.
Six o'clock rolled around before long and fuck he was craving a smoke. He took his break, keeping an eye out for the new guy as he made his way out back. The door banged open and he stepped into the cold, cigarette between his lips and unlit as of yet. He nodded to Elliot when he spotted her and went searching in his pockets for his lighter.
"Fuck," he muttered around the cigarette and dropped his hands to his sides. He'd left his lighter at the bar. Danny glanced again at Elliot and lifted an eyebrow. "Do you mind?"
