Zander would be grumpy. It was one of the less than charming traits he had that Grayson loved. Something the poked at when life would get to dull. Not enough to ever make his brother actually annoyed, but enough of a prod to get a reaction. He did hum slightly when Zander said it was a community. Belonged to everyone. A part of him realized then, that there was something Zander had that he didn’t. It was definitely a hint at why he should make the move as soon as he could. His lip twitched. “You make me sound like a scoundrel, Zander. I’m touched.” His gaze looked up at the ceiling again before dropping back down and looking over his brother’s form. He could see the reason why the other man would be considered good security. He was solid. Strong. Imposing more so than Gray was. “Well, looks like you found that smile of yours a good line of work, then.”
He nodded at the mention of the gate. If that was a position he could aid with, Gray would probably feel more at home doing that. He’d consider it more when he made the move official. But his head, which had drifted downward slightly as he listened, snapped up and eyes locked on Zander’s. His were wide with shock and the smirk filled with mirth. “You landed yourself a lass even without me around to coach you? How the tide has changed, brother.” His mind was drawing blanks on what this person must have done or displayed to have won Zander over. He did, however, listen with a smile on his face for the first time in far too long.
“I’d be honoured to meet her,” he relented after a long pause and letting the offer hang in the air. He clapped Zander on the shoulder twice, then left his hand there for a gentle squeeze. “While I don’t need the details of what happened, I would love to know more about her. I even promise to play nice when we meet.”
