Of course Zander would understand. He just couldn't trust anything anymore. He'd garnered a trust for this city out of the need to continue to survive. He trusted everyone here with a level of caution. The only one he trusted without question was of course, Nerissa. Perhaps those she kept in contact with.
He would reserve judgement for this Aoife until he met her or when he learned more.
All the same, even if Gray thought it unnecessary, Zander was grateful he wasn't upset that he'd nearly given up hope. Anything was possible in this world he had learned--and now saw with his very eyes. Perhaps that Cathedral was a great place to hide. Yet he couldn't hold back the disdain from what should have been the holy place they had grown to know and protect with their lives. "You should stay here. Those who reside in any Cathedral aren't worth your protection. Let alone their city."
As much as he wished he had a better answer for his brother, Zander crossed his arms and shook his head with a heavy sigh. "You are the only other gargoyle to have come through. It's just been me I'm afraid."
