"Easy," Danny replied with a grin. He liked being thrown an easy one now and then that wasn't a beer. Some drinks served at Boudin had a dozen steps. He stepped away only briefly to get her drink made, snagging a couple more orders on the way, but made it back to her before long and passed it over.
"Lemonade is made fresh in house," he informed Clara. "Deep Eddys' lemonade vodka, splash of lime." And of course, the lime wedge garnish on the edge of the glass.
Danny leaned forward on the bar to rest his elbows and forearms down, resting his chin on them as he looked up at her. It helped take the weight off his back for a moment and also got him out of view of impatient people waiting for their drinks. The other bartender would get to them while he talked to Clara.
"So, you've just arrived too, right? Where'd you move from and how're you liking Summerview so far?"
