“I’ll have to take your word on that,” he mused, shaking his head slightly. “I definitely won’t be trying it for myself.” Unless she really did know the woman from Nerissa’s party. It seemed like a pretty good chance he was right, considering that name didn’t sound like something someone had picked off of a website or a baby name book. Though this was all provided Cohen could somehow manage to ask his question without sounding like a stalker. After all, maybe the reason he hadn’t gotten a name and hadn’t been able to track her down was because it was a not-so-subtle hint to leave her alone. (It couldn’t be because he was awkward and barely left his apartment except when he was working, oh no)
The confusion was clear on Parthenope’s face as he mentioned hearing her name before, and he couldn’t help but run a hand through his hair nervously. It was too late to find a better way to ask, especially after mentioning hearing her name, though he wasn’t quite expecting the reaction he got when he finally just asked about a sister. Cohen watched as the woman actually bounced, clasping her hands together in a way that distinctly reminded him of the way (her potential) sister had constantly been fidgeting with her hands. At least from what he could remember through the fog.
“Peisinoe?” he repeated, testing it out. The name definitely would have fit the person he’d met. “I think I might,” he added after a moment, clearing his throat a bit. “We were at Nerissa’s Christmas party and talked for a bit. But we kind of forgot to introduce ourselves throughout the entire evening. Cohen’s lips quirked a bit as if to say ‘whoops’. “I haven’t seen her since, though,” he added, then immediately realized that it definitely sounded like he’d been looking now.
