When the waitress returned with a cup for the beer and a pitcher of water - along with a couple of other glasses, Luke had a mouthful of pizza so he signed 'thank you' to her and offered a wonky smile before he focused on Cece.
He poured them both a cup of water and then refilled her beer - and one for himself. "Yeah, it- yeah, it sucks. But death comes for everyone, I oughta know that better than anyone here." Considering.
He rolled his eyes, sipping at the beer. "Really? Over food? I mean, how much do you wanna know? Max set up a branch of the family business on the East Coast, and since I needed to get away for a while I just- figured I'd go crash on his couch. Thought it'd only be for a couple of months but he got so much work in he needed some help. So I stuck around for longer."
Elbow on the table, he rested his chin on his hand and smiled over at Cece. "Go on then, whaddya wanna know?"
