There was no mistaking the relief that crossed over Lucas' face as he slid into the booth opposite her, settling and tucking one leg underneath himself, resting an elbow on the table and taking a piece of the offered pizza. As he did, his stomach rumbled in appreciation for the meal it was about to receive.
"God, I need pizza," he told her enthusiastically as he folded it in half, taking a bite and letting out a happy hum. After swallowing his bite, he cleared his throat to answer her questions. "Um, I got back like, two days ago? I mean, I came back for a bit after Nick-" he frowned a little, voice catching, "-after, y'know." He was close with the St. Piers; they'd practically raised him along with his siblings and after Shawn had left for college, he'd moved into Nick's home. "Just to keep an eye on the house."
He put his slice down so as not to take a breath and inhale it. He did keep his eyes on Cece though, watching her lips because it was noisy in there and even with the biomechanical assistance it was hard to pick out sounds from the ambient background. "So now I'm back and I've managed to fill my house with food, I figured I'd start doing the rounds and saying hi to people."
Grinning, he retrieved his slice and took another bite. "You think I can finish a slice of pizza before launching into tales of the bizarre and undead?"
