This should not be this hard
Whilst he had yet to see the apartment that Clara had offered him Samuel believed in being prepared and that explained why he was opening up the door to Stormflowers in the search of a potential combined housewarming and welcome to Summerview type present for his potential roommate. He didn't really know her very well at all but she struck him as the sort that would appreciate some sort of plant over say... chocolates and chocolate was a really difficult thing to judge though if he had to put money on it he'd say Clara was a white chocolate kind of person.
Honestly he stuck out like a sore thumb, mostly due to the fact he was a relatively fresh face but also due to the fact he was a little lost given the amount of selection available. He'd thought this would be easy but apparently picking out a plant for a relative stranger was a lot harder than he imagined. Not that it was about to put him off or dissuade him from his chosen path even if said chosen path was proving to be more obstacle ridden than it had seemed at first. With hands in the hip pockets of jeans with leather bracelets resting around his wrists Samuel moved around the potted plants though the sight of what looked like seed trays caught his attention. Maybe those might be a better option? Give her something to raise herself? Or maybe he was overthinking this so intensely that he was going to walk away empty handed. Yep, he was definitely overthinking this. He should just get her something practical, something for the apartment, this whole getting a plant thing was definitely not the way to go. Of course he was not so distracted by his dismal thought process to miss the fact he could feel eyes on him and the hairs across the back of his neck stood on end as he caught a scent of something on the air. He couldn't put his finger on it but as he turned his head he came face to face with a woman who clearly looked far more comfortable here than he did. |
