The place was in complete darkness, there was no point for him to invest on chandeliers and fancy lighting. The people who'd previously stayed there had left lightbulbs on and he hadn't cared to remove them, in case someone came visiting one day. Of course he hadn't expected this kind of visit as his first one. The intruder seemed at ease exploring the place even like that though and that made Feng pay more attention. When he caught a small sound of excitement coming from the area where his swords were displayed, he had the proof she would make his night rather interesting.
He moved at once - in the blink of an eye, the book he was reading was laying on the armrest and he was in the living room, standing right behind her. He leant a little forward before speaking. "You have an eye for beauty." He whispered, a smirk clinging onto his words as much as it was on his lips. Less than a second and he'd taken a few steps back, a safe distance between then before she could attack him. "Had I known of a guest, I would've bought cookies to go with tea. That's a pity." He spoke louder now, heaving a sigh because he couldn't be a proper host.
Her energy looked peculiar from up close, jagged, like it'd been ripped off and then sewn together again, maybe with different pieces all together. He'd never seen anything like that. It didn't seem quite natural. "If you're here for a tour, you should turn the lights on." He pointed to the switch on the wall, his first week in Summerview spent learning the layout of the apartment. His senses sometimes didn't help him much with the more human and technological details, quite used to old places and old magic, and he had to put better effort so to have everything under control.
He wasn't concerned about giving her an advantage. She'd seemed comfortable in the darkness as well. He just stood there, hands in the pockets of his sweatpants, a jade ring hanging on a silver, thin chain around his neck, long enough to land on his chest, under his collarbones, right on the soft black sweater he was wearing. Overall, he looked fairly young and fairly nonchalant. She most likely knew better than that, though.
