It was always so unusual to catch a blush in the light of day, these days when he kept such strange hours--night hours like he was some kind of Vampire or something. Such was the nature of owning a business where the busiest and best hours were when day siders were going to dinner and maybe a nightcap and night siders were having breakfast. Actually, it was unlike him to be out and about in the middle of the afternoon at all, but here he was, and he was glad he had, because it was nice to be reminded that when compliments landed they garnered such pleasant reactions. The blush only served to make her prettier. Her brothers could tease all they liked.
Julius had never thought to ask Darius what he was writing, but the way she was talking made it seem like he was churning out historical novels or biographies. "What's his genre?
