Cohen nodded at her explanation, though his brow creased in the center with sympathy at her mention of her parents restaurant. "I'm sorry that happened, that's awful," he said, his tone genuine and simple. No ulterior motives, no need for reciprocation or thanks. Just simple empathy. Which honestly was something he wasn't even aware he did as often as he did it. "Food is a great way to bring people together and perk their day up. Everyone likes a good meal," he agreed with a small smile.
