Jayati raised an amused eyebrow at Charlie, "Does that mean I could have busted you for it before?" Not that she particularly cared, no one here really ID'd unless they were used to working in Mortal society. Many came to a Sanctuary city to get away from having to keep fake credentials, either too old or from places like the Undersea or the Summerlands where such things were either unnecessary or far too different to be applicable here.
She gave a snort that would have been messy if she hadn't timed her sip just right, but as it stood she was safe, "It's not you I'm here to scare, so that's just fine." Sheriff she may be, and sure she was here to break up fights and hunt down the occasional robber, but mostly she was here to guard the town if it was attacked. At the end of the day that was her job, where her wings and history really came in handy.
Charlie's pastry looked particularly appetizing so she found herself taking her up on the invitation, reaching out to carefully pull off a piece after she did, "Sounds like you really found your niche then." Oh, that was delicious. That decided it, didn't matter what potential secrets lurked under the tiles here, the shop was staying. No questions asked.
"Just me." Jayati commented, simple and to the point, "So you came here alone, eye on anyone yet though? Any particularly cute patrons?"
