Oh, very new then. Especially if she hadn't seen Jayati around dealing with messes or trouble of some kind. It would be interesting to see if she stuck around, Summerview had it's ho drum moments for the very young and she got that feeling from Charlie. At least they had Atlantic City not far, something even she indulged in when she needed to be off duty for a bit. "Oh about," Jayati scratched at her chin as she did a quick bit of math, "Twenty years? Nearly twenty-one I guess. What brought you, if you don't mind my asking?"
Longer than she had stayed anywhere else since leaving home, actually. She let out a quiet, not unkind laugh at Charlie's rather vocal stomach. This was the sort of place she would be hard pressed to not get hungry if you weren't already, so it was really hard to blame her.
Jayati pulled out her leather wallet, worn soft with age, "I'll have the Matcha latte and one of those giant croissants please, and whatever she's getting." She dropped a twenty on the counter as the girl behind the register wrote down her name on her ticket, stepping to the side so she could wait for Charlie to pick a table, an eye scanning over the people, the layout and the exits, calm and mostly relaxed but never quite at ease.
