Now well assured, Jayati nodded, finding her face twitching into a subdued smile at the younger woman. She was very bright, expression matching her hair in a surprisingly contagious way. It clashed with the dusty and old leather jacket Jayati wore to ward off the cold, but most things did if she were being honest. Even as she relaxed again her mind was flipping through information on the town on automatic, searching for the girl, only bringing to mind that she was a recent arrival in town.
Another amused smile at her introduction, "Jayati, but Jay is fine. Nice to meet you Charlie." Because she still said her name like her mother did and it was a little confusing for Americans the first go around. Most people in town called her Jay or Sheriff and that was fine by her. "Sticking around I think, look at the shiny thing like everyone else. You?" The matcha caught her eye finally, something a bit different for a town like this. Jayati did love her tea, especially in the mornings.
