Potions
Characters: Jaime (narrative)
When: 8/26
Location: Her dad's place
While Jaime was good with potions, she wasn't the same level her dad was. Which was why he'd prepped them before he'd left, leaving the final step for her so they'd still be fresh for the moon. They didn't handle all the weres in town, no - there were other witches that had their own clients - but they had a few. Mostly the ones who'd been around before her dad and hadn't moved to the newer, younger witches. Jaime figured she should probably be focusing more on learning this particular potion since someone was going to have to take over when her dad retired (well, died, but it was nicer not to think about that), but while the money was nice, she wasn't real sure it was worth the effort when others in town covered it just as well. Still, she'd learn for the sake of learning. Eventually. Since she was still house-sitting, she was mostly spending the nights in her old room to make sure the dogs were taken care of, popping back to her place to feed the cats, then going to work. Today, she had off which was good since she had this to take care of. Heading down to his lab (much nicer than using his kitchen, like she did at the apartment), she pulled out the trio of transformation potions to finish those off before corking them up and settling them in a cooler to take around later. Setting them by the fridge in the lab, she headed back upstairs to make sure the dogs were all set before she left to pop in to her apartment to take care of the cats. Then she'd swing back by her dad's place, make the deliveries, and then do another check of the barrier. It had been quiet, and she was glad for that. She preferred the quiet ... though she didn't imagine it would last forever. Still, with summer starting to dwindle, with school starting up, with the weather cooling off, she didn't anticipate nearly as many barrier accidents. Besides, it wasn't really the accidents that bothered her. It was the deliberates ... which could sometimes come from accidents. So there was that to look out for. Exhaling, Jaime let herself out of her dad's house, shaking her head as she trotted down the walk to get her day rolling. |
