Peisinoê laughed, a hand reaching out to run along the wall as she walked, an amused smile on her face even though Daciana may not be able to see it as she was a few steps ahead of the younger girl. Or she seemed to be younger at least, Peisinoê wasn't the best at identifying non-Sea races, although she tended to have a decent rate of getting in the right age range. One of the few physical things she had retained from her tutoring.
"In our circles there really isn't a 'normal'. I assisted with stitching up a Pixie's wings after being woken up from a dead sleep a few nights ago." It was actually one of her most enjoyable and exciting days in recent memory, she loved a challenge and new scientic experiences. Peisinoê had rushed back to her office afterwards to take detailed notes on the experience and personally followed up with the girl after.
Peisinoê paused at a door with a name plate outside of it, one of those lovely Gaelic names with a great many consonants and accent marks that she had stubbornly learned how to say before arriving in town. "Sometimes I do. It depends on how many are on staff, I spend a good portion of my time when I'm not needed for patients working in my lab." Peisinoê did not do well with nothing to do, so sitting at the desk with only limited access to resources and privacy wasn't her most ideal. There were also more distractions.
She opened up the door and stepped back, gesturing inside, "This is our head doctor's office, he consults some patients here but not all of them. It's definitely the fanciest." It wasn't that it was a bad thing, but it was still a fact. He had a few pictures of his family along with his various certifications and degrees on the wall, as was common for medical staff. Peisinoê too a few more steps backward to open up another and then to the side to open up another, "These are the three doctors who consult the most, they deal with the more serious or long-term patients. So I think these are the ones they wanted you to focus on, mine is rather small and I only consult with ones going through experimental treatments I am directly involved in. So it's a low priority." It was also small because she spent more time in her lab, to where it had kind of evolved into her second office.
Or her real one. Eiher way, whatever. Peisinoê waited patiently for Daciana to poke around, posture perfect and being surprisingly patient. It was because her and her sister had been tapped as tourguides often by her parents for visitors in the hopes of it honing their diplomatic and social skills.
Also maybe in the hopes of it being easier for them to be married off by giving them more chances to jabber at other eligible heirs.
