Cece's solitude was meant to be butted into when she was working. It was a whole other story when she was out of doors and attempting to regenerate her energy after people-ing too much, but here the interruptions were expected, and typically welcomed.
She set the book down, marking her page and regarded her new companion with a wry smile. This was an interesting turn of the tables. Usually it was Cece shopping around at Parker's place of business--usually picking up Roses (which she had the worst time growing on her own) for love potions and skin care remedies--but now here the other woman was, in Cece's "office", so to speak. What an unusual pleasure.
