When everyone you thought you knew deserts your fight, I’ll go with you
The drive to Summerview had been an interesting one to say the least.
Xiaofan had never expected to entertain the inkling to meet up with her older sister again, but the times had shifted and out of all of their siblings she had been closest to Jayati for a spell. In the mountains all of her siblings had fought, raged - each had their own different ideas of what the next step would be, where they should go. Jayati had been the most level headed even back in those days. Xiaofan had tried to speak up, offer her opinion, but none would listen to her. The parting of ways had done them all a measure of disservice but also a sense of freedom. They were stronger together, they were all any of them really had left. She wished she had understood it better back then, that inevitable need to stay close to her family. But she hadn’t realized it until it was far too late.
Perhaps it was still too late, but she felt as if she deserved at least one more attempt to try.
With her worldwide, reliable connections it hadn’t taken long to locate her sister. After a confirmation from a source that Jayati was indeed protecting a small island of supernatural beings Xi packed up her bags, climbed into her vehicle and hit the road to find and reclaim their familial bond. She knew that her own reputation preceded her and that she might not have the welcome that she was expecting, but then again her sister always had been a bit too soft when it came to her family.
Coasting over the bridge from Atlantic City, the island of Summerview reflected in the lenses of her dark sunglasses. With delight, Xi’s painted pastel lips pulled into a smile. The green dragon felt a measure of satisfaction. As the town moved past her vehicle she observed everything, anything - the people, how the buildings were organized, the colors. Vibrancy was the feeling she got, the town was thriving. Jayati was doing well here, but this town deserved better. It deserved a taste of what the humans took from them every single day, it deserved no less than the top spot on the food chain.
She would find her sister soon, but for now she was happy enough cruising through the streets for potential. There was always potential in towns like these, and she needed a base of operations with which to conduct herself. Temporary as she planned it to be, her skill set demanded some sort of appropriate residence.
Oh this was going to be good.
Her presence would not stay silent for long, Jayati would get wind that she was in the area but for now she would bide her time, bask in the secrecy, and dig her claws deep into the stronghold of the town.
