Crowe, open, after dusk
Of course Jayati was at the beach party. There was bound to be trouble so she was obligated to be there on a professional level, but she also kind of wanted to be there. The bonfires and the camaraderie that came with the whole town getting together just to celebrate being alive brought back good memories. Bad ones too, but mostly good, and at her age that was the best she could ask for.
She had been in and out since the shindig started, and was just heading back up to her bike to grab a fresh pack of cigarettes when someone odd looking caught her eye. Well. Odd was a hard thing to pin down in their world granted. But still. Jayati paused on the outskirts of the celebration where the man stood, mind supplying a name, profession, and time in town to match him as she approached. "You doing alright, kid?" As far as human standards when the guy was a bit odd, but as far as their little community went he was just another resident - after a bit you've seen it all. But it wouldn't do to have someone isolated who didn't want to be.
