"It's been nice. I managed to get my license," he said with a hint of pride in his voice. "And we just returned from holiday in Tuscany." Other than that there was nothing of interest to report. He usually spent most of his days sprawled out in front of the telly or down at the amusement arcade playing pinball. He didn't really think she would care to hear about his high score on Black Knight 2000, even if it was a classic. He should probably get some better hobbies.
He glanced at her out of the corner of his eye for a moment before turning his attention back to the road. The car was new, and ridiculously extravagant considering after this month he wouldn't be able to drive it again for nine months. Dad would kill him if he wrecked it already.
