"I'll do that," he said, nodding enthusiastically. He had a lot more time to spend at the weekend markets, after all.
He arranged the rubbish on his tray and gave her a disbelieving, almost sheepish look. Excellent company? Really? He could count on one hand the number of times someone said that about him.
"I'll mark you into my calendar," he said lightly, and then caught her eye as he took her tray, too. It was the polite thing to do, of course. "I can't confine myself to my office all of the time, after all, and it's nicer to eat with someone else than to eat alone."
Taking her tray, he pushed back his seat and made his way to the nearest bin. "I hope your afternoon goes well, Gray. Thank you for the company."
