Tonks blinked slightly at the question of going up or down, especially as she saw her boss there. She wasn't used to spending too much time outside of the ministry with the man, but then that might be the safest time they got these days. So, after a moments thought, she gave him a half smile, trying not to look as pale and tired as she felt. "Up, sir. Lunch time. Figured I'd go get some fresh air." Tonks admitted quietly, trying to sound as casual as possible about the matter when it wasn't a casual idea but a deliberately chosen one.
She didn't trust the ministry cafeteria. For once in her life, she didn't trust everyone working in the MLE. She thought there were too many ears around and saw the wideness of worried eyes. The accusations between people. Even those who hadn't chosen a side were watching and hearing, getting information for when the time came. No one relaxed in this place any more, even off duty. So she had to get out of this place.
After the week she had, if she spent the entire day surrounded by the tensions of the Ministry, she might just go insane. So she clutched her folder of work against her chest, her left hand still curiously bare of a ring, and waited for the lift. "And you, sir?"
