Melinda looked around the grocer's, her stomach growling a little. Really, if she didn't get a chocolate bar she was going to die. That's all there was to it. Oh, she had a few other things in her basket - veg, a package of chicken, and other odds and ends - but the chocolate was her priority. She'd been out for five entire days, and she was far more pleasant to have her daily dose.
Then again, she had lost two pounds over the last five days, so maybe ... no. The chocolate was completely worth it.
Her basket over her arm, she headed for the proper aisle, which had the good fortune to also have the biscuits. Once there, she found another woman perusing the shelves as well. Maybe she should pick up a package of McVittie's, too.
She reached around the woman with an apologetic smile. "Sorry," she said as her fingers closed around one package.
