While she felt there was something more, and he mentioned it was getting harder to go to the Order, Tonks couldn't focus on that for the moment. She knew she had to get the news out while she had the courage and the time was ripe. He had to know. So, with trembling fingertips and racing pulse, she clutched his hand a bit tighter, took in a deep, shaking sort of breath, and spoke.
"Remus...I..." It took another breath, her eyes finally rising to meet his own, so she could see his immediate reaction, whether it be fear or elation or anger. She wanted to know, up front and honest. "I'm pregnant. We're going... going to have a baby." And there it was, those simple few words spoken as quiet as a whisper and yet resounding as loudly as a bomb. She said nothing else, letting him take in the news as she still held his hand.
