Gawain listened, managing even to take a few bites of his curry, though it tasted a bit dry and spiceless in his mouth as he chewed and washed it down. When the other wizard stopped speaking, he was silent for a few long moments.
"I see," he said quietly, coming to terms with what had happened. Or trying. He'd betrayed his government, his ideals and his job for what then? Order information? "What sort of information?"
Why that made a difference, he didn't know. But he needed something to reconcile his actions - something to make it worthwhile.
