Verity was pacing back and forth in front of the door, trying to get up the courage to do what she had come here to do. It wasn't going to be easy- and he was going to probably be pissed at her, which she totally deserved.
She'd told her mother that morning that she was moving out, and taking Mickey with her. Verity had been house-hunting, so to speak, in Whimsic Alley earlier in the week and had found a small two-bedroom that she could afford, with her salary from WWW and her inheritance from her maternal grandmother (which was a rather nice amount). Her parents, surprisingly, were incredibly supportive and even proud of her decision.
It was weird. But in a good way, yes?
When Caleb opened the door, Verity's head snapped up and she exhaled, trying to smile and him and sort of failing. "Hey there. Can I come in?"
