It had been way too long. Katie had decided that after her third or fourth slice of pizza, while her and Alicia were reminiscing about their school years and all the people they missed. Or, moreso, didn't miss. They were girls, after all, and ragging on people they didn't like was one of their greatest talents.
Katie was glad to be with one of her best friends, in for the night, just like late nights in the common room when they were both in school. It felt... familiar, and for a while she thought there wasn't a war raging outside.
But then she remembered being questioned, and how she was always on edge because she felt like that... male questioner of hers was always following her. All stuff she tried to push away as she continued their conversation, through a fit of giggles and mouthful of pizza. "Remember that boy who had a huge crush on you during your sixth year and he kept asking you to the ball every day for two weeks?"
