He nodded. "I thought Fleur would be able to help us with that, Penny," he said. "I wasn't planning on going along. That would be far too risky, and my family...well, my family is much better equipped to handle this sort of situation, as I understand it."
Snorting softly at her joke, he gave her a rueful grin. "Thank you. My pride and virtue appreciate it."
He felt a flutter low in his stomach when she admitted to returning his feelings, and the blush on her cheeks was quite pretty. "At least we've got that out of the way," he joked lightly, hoping to make her feel better.
And then he did something he wasn't even expecting. He leaned forward and kissed her tenderly on her mouth.
