Book Shopping...
Who: Tonks and Open
Where: Bertha's Books, Hogsmeade
When: September 18th
What: Tonks tries to keep busy on her evening off.
Tonks used to enjoy staying late at work. She loved her job, loved serving the ministry and loved keeping the people of England safe. And when she and Remus first got married, there was so much work she rarely left the ministry early. But since all of the changes, since she and Greylin were taken off the Potter case, there just wasn't enough work to fill the day. People didn't trust her, at least not the type of people who were controlling the ministry, so when five o'clock rolled around, she punched out and left as quickly as she came.
She normally went straight home to shower. She felt greasy after days in the Auror's office, like she was dirty, caked with the misery of the dark wizards running the place that she loved. So she'd go home, shower, get all of that off of her flesh and forget it. Tonight, however, she couldn't stand the thought of going home to an empty house. Not again. So she began to wonder. She took herself to Hogsmeade, hopefully a bit further out of society and away from the messy crowds of Diagon.
She considered the bar, but she knew too many people in the Hog's Head. So the book shop it was. Not the nice new one, but one of the older shops that stayed open by a few loyal customers alone. She pushed the old creaking door open, breathing in deeply of the slightly musty smell and incense that filled the room. It slightly turned her stomach, but there was an odd, comforting nature to it also. She pushed the hood of her robe down off of her mousy brown hair and walked the rest of the way inside. Her gray eyes flickered over the various sections listed on the outside of shelves. She didn't supposed they had anything on parenting as a witch, but she might as well look.
