Verity was a busybody and needed to keep her nose in her own business, and Adrian had informed her of this before tweaking her nose, stealing a sip of her cocktail (and grimacing at the overly sugary taste) and leaving her to the mercy of whomever was near the corner of the room she was occupying.
"Well, well, well." If it wasn't Ms. Spinnet. Adrian hadn't seen her since their 'date' the week before- unless one counted the moment after the game where he'd seen her leaving with some older looking bloke. Who wasn't even that attractive.
"Spinnet." And, since he was lacking a drink of his own, he stole a sip of hers.
