"I know," said Remus quietly. "There is so much at stake." The fact that they couldn't use Grimmauld anymore had been a minor setback, but Moody had taken care of the security aspects, before he'd died. The fact that Harry, Ron, and Hermione were living there was a testament to its safety, but the place was being watched daily, and Remus knew that it was only a matter of time before the secret was let out.
"I must admit, I'm surprised that we haven't--" He stopped abruptly, freezing as the cracks of Apparition sounded around them like gunfire.
He waved his wand at the first Death Eater he saw, shooting off a stunning spell. Fleur had cast a shield spell, and he used what time that offered to cast Disillusionment Charms over them both. A cold chill trickled down his spine.
"How?" he asked, but he doubted Fleur knew the reason any more than he did. Surely Arthur hadn't said anything at work. How did they know?
