RP: A tiny mishap
Date: 2 September 1997 Characters: Remus Lupin, Fleur Weasley, Bill Weasley Place: Queenborough, Kent Status: Private Summary: Remus and Fleur are sent to investigate a potential safehouse Completion: Complete
Remus prowled around the outside of the little bungalow Arthur had told him about the day before. It was a potential safehouse, far away from the Ministry's prying eyes, and apparently owned by one of Dedalus' relatives. The new Ministry was driving away Muggle-borns right and left, particularly with the daily hearings taking place. No-one wanted to end up as a potential Azkaban prisoner, and the witches and wizards who didn't have the means to flee the country were stuck in quite a rut.
That was where the Order had decided to come in. They'd already provided a safehouse for the Dursley family (although Remus didn't think they'd done anything to deserve it, particularly regarding Harry, Petunia was Lily's sister); the more places they could find to house people, the better. It would provide another place to stay for those on the run, and from what Remus gathered, there were quite a few people who'd decided that running was the best option. He could hardly blame them. Delores Umbridge was a nasty piece of work, and things would only get worse.
This particular house was in good condition - bricked on the outside and overlooking open fields to the rear. It would make a fine safehouse, Remus thought. They'd just have to do something to the wards, and perhaps make sure that the house's residents refrained from using traceable magic. He was just coming around to the front of the house when he heard a pop of Apparition.
"Arthur?" he called out, striding around the corner. "I'm over here."
