The mask slipped for a fraction of a second her eyes looking intently at him but she let the anger back in after only a second. "I don't fucking need you to protect me," she told him pushing away his hand taking another couple steps back. "I need you alive. I didn't ask you to join them. There are other ways. You could have done this some other way."
She knew if they'd threatened him there really wasn't but she liked to believe they could have made a run for it. They could have found a home in some swiss village and they could have found something to do. The cost for safety here was too much.
