Attached is a present, neatly wrapped in Weasley Wizard Weezes' signature magenta coloured paper. Once you open it following is on the inside:

It is completely harmless when you first take it out of it's package, but after a couple of minutes it will blow up a cloud of black smoke and hit you in the eye, leaving behind something that would be called a black eye except for the fact that instead of being black it merrily shifts colour from one end of the rainbow spectrum to the other - and then back again. The easiest way to remove said rainbow eye is to visit the Weasley Wizard Weezes and buy a tube of their patented bruise remover. Otherwise it takes a trip to St Mungo's or two weeks of waiting for it to fade.

Percy stared at the twins' letter for several moments, examining the underlined bits and capitalized letters. He wasn't surprised that they assumed he had more important things to do than spend time with his family, but to send him a letter on his birthday pointing out his inadequacies (not to mention expressing desire to see Goblins wearing his underwear on their heads) was fairly cruel. Cruel but deserved, a voice in his head told him.

He folded their note back up and banished it to a nearby cabinet drawer. The present was still lying on his table, and he wasn't sure he wanted to open it. Knowing the twins, it was probably a booby trap.

Perhaps he'd wait on that, he decided. If it started smoking within its maroon packaging, he'd get rid of it. If not, he might chance to open it later. He was a Gryffindor after all. And a Weasley.
