"You weren't supposed to pay for that," Hestia said as they exited the restaurant. "It's your birthday, I wanted to treat you." Her hand found his as they walked nonchalantly to the apparation point. She hated how empty the Alley seemed now. Hestia knew that many of the businesses were suffering before the Ministry's new legislation, but things were even worse now. She never thought she'd admit it, but she missed the bustling crowds that had always seemed to be present in the past.
"I have to admit, I have a bit of a surprise for you at my flat," she said, warning him to be prepared. She'd only baked a small cake for him, but she wanted his mind to wander a bit over what she could have done for him. Hestia had also managed to get a bag of chocolate snitches from Honeyduke's, but she was far more excited about his reaction to the cake.
In a brief moment, they apparated, and Hestia excitedly led Viktor back to her flat. "It's not something grandiose to tell the truth, so don't get your hopes up too high," she said with a smile before she opened the door to her flat.
