"They're wonderful," Hestia said with a smile as she walked into the kitchen. "You didn't need to do that, Viktor, it's your birthday after all." She smiled at him once more before she removed a vase from one of the cabinets at filled it with water for the flowers.
"There, they brighten the place up a bit, don't you think?" she asked as she placed the flowers in the vase. It was a good thing that he hadn't come with a potted plant of some sort. Giving that to Hestia was a sure way of signing its death warrant.
"Let's get going, we can apparate from the alley around the building, hopefully without problems." Hestia's flat was connected to the floo network, but she was a bit wary of using it. She hoped that Viktor didn't notice. She took his hand and led him from the apartment before he had a chance to notice, she hoped.
"We'll be back before the evening's over, for my surprise," she said, squeezing his hand when they arrived at the apparation point.
