Was it really the time to lie to her friends? Tonks knew that keeping a strong face was a good idea -- more than a good idea, it was necessary for all of them. None of them could slip at a time like this, fall into weakness or be dishearted. It would be a slippery slope into being useless and she could not topple down that mountainside. Still, she had known Fred a long time now. She had watched him grow up into a fine young man who she truly enjoyed calling a friend. He deserved better than a shrug off from her. She watched his eyes for a few long moments before finally rolling her shoulders in a neutral, quiet little motion, her eyes dropping back to her food.
"Remus just left a bit ago. We had ... another row. He doesn't want to see sense and I don't want to let him go. And I suppose with the baby and all I might not be the... Sanest... of individuals... at the moment." Tonks admitted with a tiny little grin, at least still able to make fun of herself with a good heart. Besides, it's like she was ever really sane before? She just has a bit more insane icing on the crazy cake these days. But crazy cakes, made well, are delicious.
